  7. Total Noise (DL Chris' Filters if you don't have one).
  8. Gassian Blur 5.0
  9. Equalize (cmd-E)
  10. Blur More
  11. Stylize> Solarize
  12. Equalize (cmd-E)
  13. Invert (cmd-I) *
  14. Solarize (cmd-F) [uses last filter]
  15. Equalize (cmd-E)
  16. Invert (cmd-I)
  17. Blur More
  18. Viola!

  21. Select All (cmd-A)
  22. Copy (cmd-C)
  23. Mode> RGB
  24. New Channel
  25. Paste (cmd-V)
  26. Channels RGB (cmd-0) [zero]

  28. Solarize (cmd-F) [uses last filter]
  29. Equalize (cmd-E)
  30. Invert (cmd-I)

  32. Load Selection
  33. Adjust Hue/Saturation (cmd-U)
  34. Check colorize box
  35. Use Red (default) or your favorite alien color (adjust Hue) Try 76 for the Hue (funky green)
  36. Click OK (return)
  37. Select Inverse
  38. Adjust Hue/Saturation (cmd-U)
  39. Check colorize box
  40. Adjust to your favorite contrasting alien color
  41. Try Hue:-81 / Saturation: 70 / Lightness: -15
  42. Click OK (return)

  45. Extra credit: Before coloring, try switching to HSB. Copy the Brightness channel to the Saturation Channel. Tone it down (drop the brightness, or use the graduated bar in Levels.)
  46. Goto the HSB channel. Total noise. Gass Blur 3. Equalize. Switch back to RGB now or create a gray AliSyn (alien synapses). Psycho wowie!
